I'm back! I lied about my weight initially. I was 204 after the first post. Good news though, I've weighed myself and I'm now at 189 lbs. I've lost 15 pounds! What's the secret you ask? Well, it's nothing special; just exercise and good eating. I've eliminated a lot of fat in my diet and I've made a conscious effort to work out 3 times during the work week. I ran Portland's Shamrock Run last weekend and I felt great after. I've been doing a lot of running for the last month and half and I feel 100 times better. I was checking out my other post and forgot about that saying anything about the Superbowl. Well I have to say that was probably one of the ugliest Superbows I've seen in a long time. I wish my teams played a little better on the offense side but I guess it was the defense that decided to show up. I'm still very glad my Steelers won though. I'm waiting for a couple of items from bets I had for that game (lunch and a Steeler Jersey). No sign yet.

Welcome to my blog! This is my version of "The biggest loser." I got the name Love Handles because I got'em! Please bookmark this page because I want you to join me as I continue to get back in shape and lose the "Love Handles."

I'm debating about posting a picture of me in here but I think it'll be further inspiration to get fit. I will be updating my progress in here as well as tell you about new and interesting meals I've discovered during my quest to get back in shape. Please leave me comments and tips.

I started my quest Monday, January 30 2006. I haven't weighed myself but I'm thinking I'm probably around 190. I think the biggest reason why I'm doing this is because I owe it to myself and my family. Hearing that actor, Chris Penn, died at 43 was pretty huge too. I mean I'm 33 and I want to live for a long time to see my daughter grow and live a great life.

So what am I doing to change you ask? I've decided to quit eating "pleasure" foods and excercising. Pretty simple stuff don't you think? It really is simple but the hard part is just doing it (Unintentional Nike plug). So I've dedicated at least 3 lunches during the work week to excercise (cardio primarily and some weight-lifting). I've also decided to bring my lunch to work everyday. This helps me eat healthier and I also save money (always good).

I'm hoping this blog will not only be an inspiration to my friends and family, but also a way to keep me honest and disciplined. Please check in with me to see my progress!
